Rightsline

Year: 2022

I worked on a ground-up rebrand of the company, Rightsline, the enterprise rights and royalties platform behind IP commerce for the world's leading content owners. Starting from foundational brand and visual strategy, together with the Rightsline team, I rebuilt the visual identity from first principles: logo system, color, typography, iconography, and the component architecture that carried the new brand across the website, product marketing, email, and sales communications.

The Goal: Rights and royalties management is invisible infrastructure, complex, contract-heavy software powering IP commerce for media and entertainment, publishing, gaming, high tech, and global consumer brands. The brand hadn't kept pace with the caliber of the platform or the enterprises it served. The task was to reposition Rightsline visually as a modern, premium technology company: credible to Fortune 500 legal and finance teams, yet clear enough to make one of software's densest categories feel effortless.

Visual Design: I designed a foundational identity system built for scale and handoff, a refreshed visual language of color and typography, and a modular component library spanning web, presentations, email, and marketing touchpoints. A diagram and iconography system translated abstract workflows, rights in, royalties out, availabilities, contracts into intuitive visual narratives, giving the marketing and product teams a system they could extend long after launch.

The Brand: Rightsline is the software platform trusted by many of the world's most recognizable IP owners to manage, simplify, and monetize their intellectual property. The 2022 rebrand established the visual foundation for that positioning as the company entered its next phase of growth.

Work shown reflects the brand identity as designed and launched in 2022–2023. Rightsline's visual brand has since been evolved.
